A Winneconne correspondent writes that Rev. L. M. Lee, of Ball Prairie, died recentlv. He was 90 years old August.

He has been a Baptist preacher for over 60 year. He preached his last sermon at the Vinliind Baptist Church last June. His wife, 88 years old. is the only relative known in this State alive. Buzzellsec. 39. The Pittsfield Assault Case. On Tuesday the trial of the seven Gotys and Pagle, charged with as-sanlting Miss Annie Viert, a school teacher, in the town of Pittsfield, was taken up in Justice Kies' court. Quite a number of witnesses were in attendance, H.J.

Huntington, appeared for the plaintiff, and G. Matile. for the defendants. A jury was asked for. and one being obtained and duly sworn, the trial onimenced.

From the testimony on the part of the plaintiff, the following appeared to lie the main points of the case. They claimed that on the 17th inst- as the complainant and others were returning from church, the assault was made. tiss Viert says that she was walking with a girl, and a man named Miller. The juvenile portion of the house of Goty came up with her and commenced to use abusive language and taunts of various kinds among other things telling her she had better have them arrested again, etc. Pagle suggested to the youths that perhaps siie would like some tobac mm K-i jr.
