Bernard's won the first of the league meetings 37-34 and clinched the East Side championship with a 36-33 victory last week. St. Agnes leads on the West side. They have been beaten twice this season. The Comets clinched the West Side championship with a 35-23 victory over St.

John the Baptist. This is the first year Coach John Butrymowicz has coached St. Agnes, but he has 17 years of high school coaching experience in Montana and Michigan. There are not as many teams on the West Side. Consequently, teams meet each other more than they do on the East Side, as many as three times.

"I wish we could play against some of the East Side teams," Butrymowicz commented. "Playing the same teams three times in one season can be somewhat unenjoyable." St. Philip's handed the Comets their first loss in the De Pere Notre Dame Tournament. St. Agnes, despite 25 points from Matt Rockey and playing without a few key players on vacations, suffered its first league loss to St.
