LocalState D-6 SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 1 1, 2000 GREEN BAY PRESS-GAZETTE Attorney general seeks more severance pay for workers The Associated Press BELOIT A claim filed in federal bankruptcy court seeks $8.4 million in severance pay for former Beloit Corp. workers. The claim filed by the state attorney general's office is double the $4.2 million the state Depart "Harnischfeger management haven't really faced i the consequences of their actions" Dan Morris, one of the former employees who filed a complaint ment of Workforce Development requested Harnischfeger, parent company of Beloit pay in September for funds owed 306 workers. "Harnischfeger management haven't really faced the consequences of their actions," said Dan Morris, one of the former employees who filed a complaint with the Department of Work force Development Morris said he would have rev ceived $37,000 in severance under the policy the company had in place for years. Morris and others charge Harnischfeger unfairly distributed severance funds in the last months Beloit Corp. remained in operation. Harnischfeger, Beloit parent company, declared bankruptcy last year and put Beloit Corp. up for sale.

As the company based in Beloit gradually shut down, workers received notice the severance policy of one week's pay for each year worked at the company had changed. Roffers, Louis Louis H. Roffers, 81, De Pere resident, passed away peacefully Friday morning, Nov. 10, 2000 at a local hospital. The son of Anderson, Alice Alice Anderson, 66, Green Bay, passed away on Nov. 10, 2000.

Os Tennis, Aubrey Aubrey De Tennis, infant daughter of Paul De Tennis, III and Kim Clark, De Pere, died Nov. 8, 2000, shortly after birth. Ehlinger, Kurt Lawrence Lawrence Ehlinger, 22, jGreen Bay, went to rest in his Lord's Arms where he is dancing the late Jacob and Kate (Baeten) Roffers was born March 18, 1919 in De Pere. He was a graduate of East De Pere High School. Louis was a veteran of f' Daniel Christianson, Waukesha; and Mary (Keith) Cox, Lombard, four greatgrandchildren, Ryan and Bradley Clayton, Jeremy and Preston Cox; also survived by two sisters-in-law, Lucille Re-nard and Mrs. Carlton (Phyllis) DeKeyser; and nephews. She is also survived by a cousin, Mary Jane Kennedy, Green Bay.

Interment at the Saint Mary of the Lakes Cemetery will follow at a later date. The family has entrusted Suminski Funeral Home of Wabeno, 715-473-3131, with' the arrangements. Mathias, Dorothea A. Mrs. Daniel (Dorothea) Mathias, 73, Green Bay, died Thurs- Joseph Church in De Pere.

During the course of her professional career, she worked for Dr. Merline, was an OB Nurse and a Relief Nurse Supervisor at Bellin Hospital for 13 years, and was a nurse with Dra. Austin and Sandmire. She finished her career at St. Vincent Hospital in the Nursing In Ser vice Department, prior to her retirement.

Dottie helped with the Red Cross Blood Bank for many years, served on the first Peoples Drug Abuse Center Board, and served on the Arthritis Foundation Board. She was a caring, loving, giving woman and a finer Christian woman could not be found. She was a life-long teacher, and through her good times and bad times, she was an inspiration to all. Dottie was gifted with a beautiful voice and was a soloist and proud member of the Choir at i the First United Presbyterian Church in De Pere. She was the best wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend to be found.

Mrs. Seymour was an avid reader. She lived the Golden Rule in her life on a daily basis. 9, 2000, at a local nursing home, after a lingering illness. She was born Aug. 8, 1910, in Hermansville, the daughter of the late Timothy and World War II serving in the United States Air Force. Louis married Bette Lau-rant Feb. 14, 1947 at St.

Mary Catholic Church, Algoma. She preceded him in death July 22, 1996. Louis worked for Wisconsin Telephone Co. as a lineman for 44 years. Louis was a member of St.

Mary Catholic Community where in his younger years he was 'an altar server and now a dedicated usher. He volunteered at Rennes Nursing Home and the Red Cross. Louis was an avid hunter, fisherman, bowler, Packer fan and loved going to the Casino. Louis' dogs were very special to him. Survivors include three sisters- in-law, Joan (Laurant) Wagner, Algoma; Evelyn Roffers, DePere; Marilyn Roffers, Green Bay; numerous nieces and nephews, special friends, Don and Mary ane Van Remortel family.

Louis was preceded in death by three sisters, Ceil Kosmoski, Leona Hoebrockx, Etta Van Rite. Four brothers, Hubert Roffers, Clarence ana singing with the Angels and our loved ones, on Nov. 9, Kurt was born on June 12, 1978, in Green Bay, the son of Larry and Carol Ehlinger. Kurt attended friends. Pauline was preceded in death by her stepfather, Lester Jorgensen.

The family will greet relatives and friends at the Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday, where a Prayer Service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Monday, Nov. 13, 2000 at the Pfeffer Funeral Home and 10 a.m..

at St. Mary Catholic Church, Manitowoc. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. Roman Zbieran-ski O.F.M. with burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.

Pauline enjoyed teaching, golfing, dancing, reading, traveling and spending time with her family. Seidl, Wendy Wendy S. (Weiler) Seidl, 42, Lakewood, died as a result of an automobile accident on Nov. 9, 2000. Wendy was born in Kaukauna on April 14, 1958, to Jack and Colleen A.

(Hoheisel) Weiler. Wendy graduated from Kaukauna High School. She lived in that area most of her life but her heart was in the Lakewood area from the time she was a young girl. And so she finally moved to the Lakewood area in 1996. She was a member and a fire-fighter trainee of the Lakewood Volunteer Fire Dept.

She was a bartender at the PourHaus in Lakewood. If there was a' local benefit or fund-raiser, Wendy was sure to be involved. She enjoyed deer hunting very much. Wendy is survived by her fiance, Donald Scheuermann Lakewood; one daughter, Dana Seidl, at home; two sons, Ryan Mahony, at home; Dan De-Coster, Townsend; one stepdaughter, Stacy Scheuermann Lakewood; one brother, Chris (Terry) Weiler, Tomahawk; two nieces; aunts and uncles. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Colleen Weiler; and a sister, Mary Kay.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, Nov, 12, 2000, at the Suminski Funeral Home, Wabeno and on Monday from 9 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 10 a.m. at St. Mary of the Lakes Catholic Church, Lakewood, with Father Stanley Browne officiating.

10, 2000, at Aurora Medical Center, Two Rivers. Pauline was bom April 24, 1938, in Green Bay, daughter of Vida Nelsen Hansen Jor-gensen and the late Norman A. Hansen. She was a graduate of Denmark High School with the Class of 1956 then graduated from Oshkosh University Teachers College. On June 14, 1969, she married Harris Schiies at St.

Mary Catholic Church, Manitowoc. Pauline was employed for 37 years as a school teacher in the Manitowoc Public School System from 1969 until her retirement in 1995. She was a member of the Manitowoc, National and Wisconsin Education Associations. Survivors include her husband, Harris Schiies, Manitowoc; one stepson and stepdaughter-in law, Gary and Kelly Schiies, Kaukauna; one stepdaughter and stepson-ln-law, JoAnn and Joseph Stoll, Madison; one grandson, Kyle Schiies; her mother, Vida Jorgensen, Denmark; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Julie and Donald Kuck-enbecker, Maribel; Meryl and Glenn Parizek, Denmark; three, brothers and sisters-in-law, Keith and Carol Hansen, Denmark; Neil and Karen Hansen, Green Bay; Darrel and Kay: Denmark; nieces, nephews, other relatives and Bay. Dorothea then married Daniel Mathias on July 26, 1947, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Medford. She worked in Civil Service during World War II at Great Lakes Naval Training Center, Chicago, then later at Harley Davidson Motorcycle Milwaukee. Dorothea became a full time homemaker raising four sons.

She enjoyed volunteering at St. Vincent De Paul, playing cards and especially enjoyed watching her granddaughters grow. She is survived by her husband, Daniel; four sons and daughters-in-law, Jeff Mathias and Linda Elliot, Honolulu; Thomas and Kim Mathias and their daughters, Angela and Alison, Marshfield; Mark Mathias and his daughter, Jessica, Denver; Scott Mathias and fiancee, Melissa Weisnicht, Green Bay; two sisters, Helen Heier, Medford; Elaine Krantz, Oconomowoc. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Ernest Ruge. Friends may call at St.
